Rich Jaroslovsky is the retired Vice President and Chief Journalist for SmartNews, a Tokyo-based news aggregator. He teaches a course on the history online news at the University of California, Berkeley. He is also a nationally known columnist and commentator on personal technology who has appeared frequently on National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" and other broadcast outlets. Previously, he was executive editor in charge of Bloomberg's global economic, political and governmental-news coverage, based in New York. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Mr. Jaroslovsky had a lengthy career at The Wall Street Journal, both in Washington -- where he was White House correspondent, national political editor and a columnist -- and in New York, where he was the founding managing editor and top newsroom executive of The Wall Street Journal Online. He founded and was the first president of the Online News Association.
