Rodney Gibbs

Rodney Gibbs is a media entrepreneur and journalism executive. The Texas Tribune’s first Chief Product Officer, he helped grow a fledgling start-up into one of the nation’s most admired nonprofit news operations. He launched The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s “live journalism” events arm, convening futurist Amy Webb, U.S. cabinet secretaries, and local and statewide elected officials for on-the-record public conversations with AJC journalists. With the National Trust for Local News, he helped rural newspapers across Georgia, Colorado, and Maine build digital products. Rodney now serves as Executive Director of Heartland Signal, a digital newsroom and talk radio network covering the Midwest and beyond.
