Are you a journalist ready to step back from the daily grind and help reimagine the future of the field? Join ONA and the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships (JSK) on Nov. 10 for a conversation about the 2027 fellowship and how to put together a strong application. The application deadline is Dec. 2, 2026.

Based at Stanford University, JSK empowers diverse journalism leaders to become effective change agents, sustain democratic communities, and defend press freedom around the world. Each year, up to 20 journalists from around the globe spend nine months at Stanford, working together to tackle journalism’s most urgent challenges.

JSK is looking for journalists who are eager to find and test new ideas for making news and information more accessible, which is essential to healthy democratic communities. For fellows ready to step away from their current roles and commit to that mission, the program provides personalized mentorship, specialized programming, and a collaborative environment designed to build leadership resilience, skills, and confidence.

JSK is also committed to diversity in all its dimensions, including professional and personal background, experience, and thought, and works to ensure a welcoming and inclusive experience for every fellow. The program seeks applicants who share those ideals.

In this webinar, you’ll:

  • Hear what the fellowship experience looks like
  • Learn what the selection committee looks for in applicants
  • Get practical tips for preparing your application
  • Have the chance to ask questions
