Report for America

Report for America's mission is to strengthen communities and our democracy through local journalism that is truthful;fearless;fair and smart.† We are a national service program that places journalists into local newsrooms across the U.S. to report on under-covered issues and communities. Each year;we offer 50-100 new reporter and photojournalist positions in our host newsrooms.† Since 2017;Report for America has supported over 600 journalists and helped launch their careers while bringing important news coverage to over 300 newsrooms.† An initiative of the nonprofit media organization;The GroundTruth Project;Report for America is structured to harness the skills and idealism of an emerging group of diverse journalists plus the creative spirit of local news organizations
