Professional Bio
Christina Jedra is the deputy editor for Honolulu Civil Beat, a nonprofit newsroom in Hawaii. She leads a team focused on enterprise and investigative reporting – stories that hold power to account, follow taxpayer money and spotlight people who have been harmed. Previously, Jedra spent 10 years as local investigative reporter. Her stories on waste, abuse and public policy failures made major impacts, triggering criminal prosecutions and helping propel the activism that shut down a massive World War II-era fuel depot after it contaminated Pearl Harbor's drinking water. In 2024, Christina and her Civil Beat colleagues were recognized as finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for their breaking news coverage of deadly wildfires on Maui.
