Professional Bio
Diamond Naga Siu (first name is two words) joined The Boston Globe as its newsletter editor in 2024. Her work spans developing audience engagement strategies, coding newsletters, leading brainstorms, conducting audits, teaching peers about audience engagement, producing newsletters, navigating inbox laws/regulations, and anything else related to newsletters.
She’s passionate about creating in-person communities through digital spaces, and to accomplish that, she works with teams across the newsroom and business department.
One of her favorite collaborations that she led was figuring out how to make the tech and journalism work together in The Globe’s first-ever paywalled newsletter, Power Play. She united people across teams to make sure readers had a seamless experience getting the news.
She also launched — and initially authored — the company’s flagship newsletter Starting Point, relaunched its investigative Spotlight newsletter, and created The Globe’s first-ever newsletter course, teaching readers about the infamous Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum art heist.
Before joining the Globe, Diamond Naga was a senior reporter at Business Insider, where she authored the daily 10 Things in Tech newsletter and helped relaunch its flagship newsletter Insider Today. Prior to that, she was a reporter at Law360, where she covered cybersecurity, privacy, hospitality, Native American law, and international arbitration.
Diamond Naga currently serves as the national representative for the New England chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association and was previously the AAJA New York chapter secretary for the 2020-2021 term.
Outside of work, Diamond Naga is a pickleball coach who enjoys competing in tournaments. She also loves exploring everything related to food: cooking, nutrition, trying new places, grocery shopping, and of course, eating.
