SeeGov collects and transcribes local government meetings

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM (EDT)

Zoom

Event Details

Local government coverage is essential and relentless. School board meetings that run four hours. City council votes buried in dense agendas. Video you know would perform, if only you had time to find, clip and post it.

In this session, journalists from small and mid-sized newsrooms will share how they've transformed their local government workflows.

You'll hear from:

Suzie Glassman, news innovation lead and senior education reporter at the Colorado Trust for Local News, who covers five school boards simultaneously.

Wes Platt, editor and publisher of Southpoint Access News, who has built a loyal Durham, NC audience through local government highlight reels and social posts.

You’ll also hear how one Substacker earns tens of thousands of Instagram views on short-form videos grabbed from local government meetings using SeeGov.
