Event Details

Rahim Jessani of Bottom Up Media leads a virtual presentation on how to become a “creator journalist” by teaching the art of short-form video content for YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Attendees will learn how to find and use trends, the basics of creating content on their phones, and gain access to exclusive tips and tricks for making concise, digestible videos for social media. By the end of this session, you will be better prepared to create your own short-form videos that engage and grow new audiences on social media.

Speaker:

Rahim Jessani is a creator journalist and founder of Bottom Up Media, an independent journalism organization that produces, incubates, and consults on creator journalism for the next generation of audiences. A graduate of Boston College, Rahim has worked across several newsrooms, start-ups, and nonprofits, helping guide audience engagement strategies through short-form video, live streaming, and grassroots-level marketing to reach new audiences in online “content deserts.” Rahim’s own reporting is based in Boston, where he covers marginalized communities and works alongside community members and creator journalists to elevate undercovered voices and help rebuild trust in journalism through accessible, community-driven storytelling.
