Welcoming Erin McGregor, ONA’s new Community Impact Facilitator

The Online News Association (ONA) is thrilled to announce Erin McGregor as Community Impact Facilitator. Erin has a background in building communities, launching initiatives in both public and private sectors and cross-sector collaboration to ONA. Her work reflects a strong commitment to fostering inclusive and engaged communities. 

Erin previously led community engagement and educational initiatives at Association of Independents in Radio (AIR) including mentorship and programming on SoundPath, AIR’s platform for the audio industry. In her role, she also worked with community members and stakeholders to update and publish the 2025 Freelance Rate Guide for AIR. This resource was used to help support transparency in compensation for independent media professionals. 

Erin holds a Master’s Degree in Social Justice & Equity Studies where she studied the impact of broadcast journalism on democracy. Her professional and academic work align with ONA’s mission to support journalists.
